Provincial Point of View
Our thoughts & prayers are with all the evacuees and everyone helping to fight fires in northern Saskatchewan
July 9, 2015

FIRES IN NORTHERN SASKATCHEWAN AFFECT AREA ALMOST 25 TIMES THE SIZE OF SASKATOON

Fifty four communities are under full or partial evacuation due to the wildfire threat or smoke. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the thousands of people who have been evacuated due to the fires. To the many courageous firefighters, volunteers and everyone who are working vigilantly to help save homes and communities in the north, thank you. We pray for your safety as you continue to courageously battle the fires that have affected so many.

"Whenever there is an event like this the budget is not the thing to look at because the budget becomes whatever it takes for the appropriate response, whatever it takes to protect people first then property, buildings, value assets as they call them. And we'll find those dollars," Premier Brad Wall said.
