Good bye summer, hello Autumn!
THANK YOU MR. HOCKEY - A WISH COME TRUE
It was an honour to attend a media conference that began with a tribute video, which spoke about the tremendous hockey player Gordie Howe was.
Gordie Howe, the hockey legend who passed away in June let it be know to his family that he wanted his ashes and those of his late wife Colleen buried by the Howe hockey statue outside the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.
In conjunction with the Saskatoon Blades' home-opener September 25, Thank You Mr. Hockey will be held at SaskTel Centre. The historic day will include a pre-game tailgate party, pre-game ceremony and much more.
The city of Saskatoon and the Provincial Government approved having an interment ceremony which will indeed be the cornerstone of this special day. The day will be a great tribute to the Howe family and a day for all of us to honour the life and legacy of Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe.
A portion of the proceeds from the 50/50 to go to The Quinn Stevenson Memorial Athletic and Spirit Trust. Quinn was a resident of Saskatoon Willowgrove and his memory is kept alive by wonderful events like this one. His mother Bonny is looking for 15 volunteers to sell 50/50's. Please let her know if you're able to help out. She also has 150 tickets at a cost of $15.00. Please see the links below for more details on the day.
