Happy Halloween! Drivers, be alert tonight. Slow down and watch for pedestrians. Parents, make sure your trick-or-treaters don't venture onto the roadway and put themselves at risk. #TrafficTipTuesday
Halloween is an exciting day for children. I encourage everyone to follow the tips below to ensure our children enjoy a safe Halloween.
- Plan a route, if you have little ones this can be the best way to navigate a safe path.
- Costumes should be bright, though some of our scary ones will be in dark costumes to cause the most fright, a little reflective tape or a bright scarf will make them better to see. If the best costume ever needs a mask, make sure that the eye and mouth holes are big enough for them to see and breath out of.
- The older kids, who can go on their own without an adult, should have a flashlight, stay in a group and have an agreed upon time to return home to check the treats.
