HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

SASKATOON BUSINESS EXEMPLIFIES GROWTH IN OUR PROVINCE

On behalf of Premier Scott Moe and the Honourable Jeremy Harrison, I had the pleasure of joining EnviroWay Detergent Manufacturing in Saskatoon to highlight Saskatchewan’s strong job creation numbers with 580,000 people now working in Saskatchewan and the second lowest unemployment rate in the nation.

Saskatchewan has seen 23 months of continuous year-over-year job growth across many of our economic sectors, with thousands of new jobs created every month.

According to Statistics Canada, employment in the province rose 0.4 per cent in February compared with January.

There were 592,000 people working during the month, with the economy adding 2,600 positions.

When comparing February 2023 with February 2022, roughly 9,400 new jobs were created in the province — an increase of 1.6 per cent.

“Our province is growing, the business community is growing but there is more work to do,” said MLA Ken Cheveldayoff on behalf of Jeremy Harrison, minister of trade and export development.

More people, more jobs and more opportunities.

That's growth that works for everyone.

$297 MILLION INVESTMENT TO SET NEW RECORD FOR MUNICIPAL REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM

Premier Scott Moe announced the overall Municipal Revenue Sharing Program in 2023-24 will set a new record with a more than $297 million provincial investment, benefiting municipalities and supporting their local priorities across Saskatchewan.

"Saskatchewan’s municipal revenue sharing program is nation-leading, and as a predictable funding source it helps municipal governments support and plan for local priorities in their communities," Moe said. "This new record provincial investment will benefit both rural and urban communities and keep our great province strong."

NEW SASKATOON URGENT CARE CENTRE

Saskatchewan’s strong and growing economy allows us to make key investments in the programs and services that matter most to you!

Saskatoon’s new urgent care centre will add an additional resource for those seeking health care services in and around one of Saskatchewan’s largest urban cities.
Increasing the access to health care services is a priority for our government, as we continue to recruit, train, incentivize and retain more health care workers in our province.
That’s growth that works for everyone!
