It was a pleasure to attend the Saskatoon chamber luncheon last week where Tammy Sweeney, CEO, TCU Place provided an in-depth look at how the enhanced convention centre will shape the ROI of the downtown entertainment district.
It is interesting to hear how the conference centre fits into the Downtown Entertainment and Events District and learn more about the features that will bring in MORE business to our community, and the potential with a new enhanced facility.
While a conference centre is more unknown to the local community than a large arena with concerts and sports, the economic impact is significant, and the contribution to the local community is substantial.
Did you know that TCU Place currently hosts more than 450 events per year, and the majority of those are conferences or meetings. And given that the pairing of our theatre and conference centre is unique in the Canadian landscape, we can do some incredible things by bringing the two facilities together for spectacular events.
